April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a national effort to raise awareness about sexual violence. Partnership, along with other community partners, will be hosting an event to discuss sexual violence that impacts children, teens, and their families. The event is a family-appropriate event centered around body autonomy, grooming, and safety planning as it pertains to sexual assault. We will also provide relevant information specifically for parents/guardians: signs to look for in your child’s behavior, appropriate steps to take if sexual abuse is suspected, and how parents/guardians can have conversations around body autonomy. The event will highlight ways to equip our community with information on how to prevent sexual violence, create a stronger culture of consent, and how to best support survivors. Children, Teens, and Adults will be separated into different groups.
A consent form will be signed by parents/guardians at the event giving minors permission to participate.
Potential Risks: Possibility of emotional discomfort due to the nature of the topic.
