Dr. DeAnna Deasley on
Ecology of
Human-Driven Change

4/22  7:00 pm
At the Unitarian-Universalist Church
3224 Navajo Dr., Chattanooga
(downstairs, end of hall)

Dr. DeAnna Beasley will present some of her research on how insect populations and microbial diversity respond to environmental change associated with human activity. She'll also highlight ongoing research taking place in the Integrative Ecology Lab at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Dr. Beasley received her PhD at the University of South Carolina where she studied the ecological consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. Her dissertation advisor was Dr. Timothy Mousseau. She then went on to North Carolina State University where she did her postdoctoral training with Dr. Rob Dunn. There, she expanded her research experience to study the effects of urbanization on insect populations and microbial diversity in human spaces, from our bodies to our buildings.
We'll also be writing thank-yous to Sen. Alexander for the passage of the Tennessee Wilderness Bill! Public welcome and free as always! Hand written notes mean a lot! Bring your pen. :)
Supper Before the Meeting: Join us at Amigos in East Ridge for Taco Monday at 5:30, 3805 Ringgold Rd. All are welcome
