Easter at Coolidge returns for its 10th year! Bring the family and your Easter baskets and join us Easter Sunday morning for this fun, community-cherished event that includes an egg hunt of over 100,000 eggs.

This event is FREE for the whole family. The egg hunt begins at 9 a.m. but be sure to arrive early to set up your lawn chairs in the park and take part in the other fun activities! After the egg hunt, grab your seat and enjoy songs of praise led by Stuart Heights’ Worship Choir and Orchestra, followed by a message of faith, hope and gospel of Jesus Christ.
Egg Hunt
We have over 100,000 Easter Eggs filled with treats and toys for the kids. The hunts begin at 9 AM with separate hunts for different age groups. There will also be a chance to get your kids face painted.

Worship Service
The service will begin at 10 AM a worship choir. There will also be a short Easter sermon followed by an opportunity to be baptized on-site in Coolidge Park in a portable baptistry! You can sit, stand, sing or just listen.

Birdwatchers and Battlefields:

An Exploration of Modern and Historical Birding in Chickamauga Battlefield

On Saturday, March 31, at 7:30 am, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will present a 2-hour, 2.5 mile hike focusing on modern and historical birding in Chickamauga Battlefield. This tour will begin at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center, then caravan to the program site.

In April 1895, Bradford Torrey reached Chattanooga in the midst of a “rattling” thunderstorm. Torrey’s primary mission while visiting was bird watching, and a few days after his initial introduction to the Scenic City, he stepping off a train at Lytle Station and into Chickamauga Battlefield. The following year, he published Spring Notes from Tennessee, which cataloged his time in the battlefield, including meeting Henry Boynton, one of the park’s original proponents, visiting a family at the Kelly House, where he purchased some minié balls, and napping on Snodgrass Hill. In addition to learning about Torrey’s visit and some of the historical birds he encountered, NPS Volunteer Danny Gaddy will be along to point out birds that call Chickamauga Battlefield home today.

Please remember to wear clothing appropriate for the weather, bring along water, and be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots.
