St Elmo Roy Nelms Park Re Build, Saturday, October 1, 2011

Come on out October 1st to Roy Nelms Park (corner of Ochs and Alabama) for a great day of fun as we rebuild the gazebo that was destroyed during the April tornadoes! We will also be adding a picnic table, benches and a grill and doing some planting and landscaping. 

It's not all going to be work, though! 

Gerle Haggard, TN Hustlers, and The New Binkley Brothers are going to play. Throughout the day there will be yoga, food, kids activities, free ice cream, and Collective Clothing will be holding a rummage sale.

Fairgoers are shuttled to the park via Bus Shuttle.  There is no admission charge, but there is a shuttle fee. The fair is open both days from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm and is held rain or shine.

                    Middle Valley Recreation Center – directions
BUS COST:  $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children ages 3-12, under 3 Free. This covers the cost of the bus shuttle to and from the fair. Entrance to the fair is free. The fair will be held rain or shine.

Walgreens Woes

If you've been reading my blogs for any length of time, you realize that I often do Not have good shopping experiences at stores.  Most recently it was at Walgreens. 
I went in to purchase the Suave Lotion that is advertised at on sale for $3 each.  I purchased 2 to get the Register Reward.  When I got home, I looked at my receipt and noticed that I was charged $3.50 for Each lotion.  That's an extra $1 PLUS 9.25% tax.  Not worth the gas money to drive back to the store.  I'm just Very frustrated with being cheated by stores.  If the ad says that they are $3, they should ring up as $3, right?  Is it me or is it them, it's them, right???
Remember:  Check your receipt BEFORE you leave the store. 

Tankini Blues

Let's just be honest.  My body is not what it used to be.  I've had kids.  I've gotten a little older.  So, I'm looking at Tankini swimwear at Walmart today and ... really??  People do Not want to be seeing all of me out there in a swimming suit.  Can I get something a little more modest?  Something that doesn't show ... well, all of my imprefections?  It's a swimming suit, so it's going to show more than I would normally show, but really?
