April Program: Messier’s 240-Year-Old-Mystery

This month’s program is titled “Messier’s 240-Year-Old Mystery” or “Will the Real M102 Please Stand Up?”. We will look at the one Messier object that, after all these years, has still not been identified for sure. Why did this happen? What is the history behind this long running controversy and why after all this time has there not been a solution

Make sure you park in the upper parking lot behind Brainerd (United Methodist) Church at 4315 Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga. Walk up the small access road to the cemetery and the back door to the Observatory. Much better than negotiating the dark trail through the woods from Tuxedo Ave!

BAS Programs and Meetings are free and open to anyone who has an interest in the sky! All are welcome!
