USS LST 325 WWII Museum Ship, Friday, September 12 - Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Friday, September 12 - Wednesday, September 17

9 am - 5 pm daily

The USS LST 325 is the last fully operational WWII Landing Ship, Tank. LSTs were built to land directly onto enemy beaches and unload Sherman tanks, trucks, jeeps, troops, and supplies; which is why they are considered the ships that won the war. Over 1,000 were built for use during WWII alone. The design proved so useful they continued building them for the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The USS LST 325 sails to cities on inland rivers to share a piece of our nation's history with visitors. With an invasion record that includes Sicily and Normandy, this is a must see for the whole family. Tours of the ship are self-guided while in port. – Contact the Friends of the Festival office for tours and groups 423-265-2212.
