Effective Friday, July 14, 2017. the City of Chattanooga’s Public Works Department has reduced the rate of wood chips to $4 per ton. Because Public Works has a high volume of material which increases the risk for a fire hazard, the charge is being reduced.  All non-city residents and businesses may take advantage of this new price for the purchase of wood chips at the City’s Wood Recycle Center, which is located at 3925 N. Hawthorne St.  The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
