Silk & Shades – Live Silk Painting Demonstration!

Join silk artist Claire Vassort as she demonstrates how to paint on silk!
Claire will be in the lobby of the downtown library demonstrating her technique.
She is teaching free public art classes at the library during the
months of May through July. This is a great way to see if you are
interested in registering for one of her classes!
Chattanooga Public Library has launched an artist-in-residence program to offer free art classes to children and adults. The first project, Silk & Shades at the Library, will be lead by local silk painting artist Claire Vassort. The classes will teach participants how to paint silk banners that will combine together with Vassort's work to create a display that will be featured in the Downtown Branch. Classes are open to participate ages 7 and up adn will be held on the 4th floor of the Downtown Branch. In preparation, live demos open to the public will be held int eh lobby of the Downtown Branch. the first is Saturday, April 6 from 1 - 3:30 p.m Registration is required for the classes. Register at chattlibrary.org/events beginning April 6. Classes run May - July.
