Parent University Kick Off

at First Tennessee Pavillion in downtown Chattanooga

The Hamilton County Department of Education invited parents looking to get more involved and hear about opportunities in the school system to attend.  The even also features a celebration for the 2018-2019 school year with food and fun..  

Hamilton County Schools is hosting a new school year celebration as an opportunity for parents to get involved in their child’s education. The kickoff celebration will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the First Tennessee Pavillion from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The kickoff event will include free school supplies, free food, and the first 200 school-age children will receive a free backpack.  The event will also include activities including face painting, blow-up play activities, snow cones, ice cream, and interactive learning activities from the Chattanooga Public Library and Creative Discovery Museum.  

Apparently lines were already formed at 8 a.m. (even though the event did not begin until 10).
