Harrison Bay Star Party

Join the BAS at Harrison Bay State Park for the monthly Harrison Bay State Park Star Party! The BAS will have telescopes, binoculars, and night-sky experts eager to share the glories of the night sky. There will be a nice variety of heavenly objects on display. The constellations of winter are slowly being replaced by the sights of spring!. In addition to telescopic wonders, there will be constellation identification, stories, and more. Stargazing begins at 8:00 pm and should last until 10 or so (we'll stay as long as people want to look into our telescopes or the Rangers kick us out ;) In the event of inclement weather, we will have a program in the Rec Hall starting at 8:00 pm.

There will be a nice variety of heavenly objects on display. The constellations of summer are making their appearances, and Jupiter and Venus are really lighting up the evening sky! In addition to telescopic wonders, there will be constellation identification, stories, and more.
Stargazing begins at sunset and should last until 11 or so (we'll stay as long as people want to look into our telescopes or the Rangers kick us out ;)
In the event of inclement weather we will have a program in the Rec Hall starting at 9:00 pm.
This event is FREE and everyone is welcome!
If you have a telescope and would like to bring it, you are by all means welcome to do so!
Directions
From TN HWY 153, take TN HWY 58 North towards Decatur, TN. Travel 8.3 miles to Harrison Bay Road; turn left. There is a pretty big sign for the park. On Harrison Bay Road, travel approximately 1.5 miles to the main park entrance on the left - turn left. Stay to the right at the fork in the road and continue about 0.5 miles. Parking will be available around the Recreation Hall. Watch for signs to guide you in.
The observation field will be in the large parking area next to the Recreation Hall. Come and enjoy the sky!
