Radio Birdman documentary gets a special screening Radio Birdman was one of the most important independent rock bands in Australia for many years, inspiring such acts as Cold Chisel and Midnight Oil, which went on to international fame.
"Descent Into the Maelstrom" is the documentary based on the band's history.  They were billed as the "loudest band in the land, "and the film will have a special screening Sunday, November 4  from 7 to 10 pm as part of the monthly Sunday Slashers series at the Palace Theater, 818 Georgia Avenue.
Sunday Slashers meets once a month at the Palace Theater to screen rare and independent films, often with guest appearances by the featured film's cast members, writer or director.
