Military Park will provide a special 90-minute driving/walking tour
following General John B. Hood’s famous Texas Brigade. This tour begins

Hood’s Texas Brigade is one of the more storied units of the American Civil War. During Chickamauga, its soldiers were engaged in some of the bloodiest fighting witnessed on the battlefield. This walk will cover the actions of this renowned unit in a part of the battle that one young Texan recalled as “The Meanest, Most Unsatisfactory place…in the whole war.” It will also provide a glimpse into the lives of the men who made up this hard hitting organization.
Please make sure to bring a bottle of water and comfortable walking shoes, as the walk will be about one mile in length.
