National Puppy Day, Saturday, March 24, 2012

Life Care Center of East Ridge is partnering with East Ridge Animal Services to celebrate National Puppy Day on March 24 from 2 - 5 p.m.  East Ridge Animal Services will bring puppies and older dogs to be adopted starting at 2 p.m  All adoptions will be free. 

Safety Fair, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Eastgate

The Chattanooga Police Department and Virginia college are teaming up to sponsor a Community Safety Fair March 24 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m at the Virginia College's Eastgate Campus.  The event is free of charge and open to the public, including both adults and children.

Retro Fashion & Trunk show at The Incline Railway
    The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway will be celebrating its reopening with a fun filled Ticket To Ride celebration on Saturday, March 24, with live entertainment, 60's/70's themed merchandise for sale, retro clothing fashion show courtesy of Collective Clothing and a live remote with Hippie 106.9 FM from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be dozens of free prizes given away all day long courtesy of Mello Yello.
    The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is the steepest passenger railway in the world and is one of Chattanooga's most visited tourist attractions. It is owned and operated by the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority. Tickets to the Incline Railway can be purchased online at ridetheincline.com.
    Fashion show will start at Noon and will feature looks from the 60's and 70's with a modern twist. We hope you will come!

Award Winning Illustrator To Visit the Library

Michael P. White, an award-winning artist and illustrator, will present an interactive family program on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chattanooga Public Library – Downtown. Mr. White is the illustrator of popular children’s books, including The Library Dragon and The Secret of Old Zeb. He is a native of Georgia, where he graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta. His artwork has been displayed at galleries throughout the country. The much anticipated sequel to The Library Dragon, written by Carmen Deedy, will be released in the fall.
This free program will include hands-on drawing techniques and step-by-step lessons on how to start your own story or book. In addition, Mr. White will be awarding ribbons to the winners of The Chattanooga Public Library’s Annual Bookmark Contest who will attend as special guests. The first-place winners will be featured on bookmarks that will be distributed at all of our libraries during National Library Week in April.
