National Dairy Goat Awareness Celebration

Dixie Soaps/Dixie Does Alpines will be at the Ooltewah
Farmers Market (located at Ooltewah Nursery) with some of their Alpine
dairy goats. This fun an educational event has something for everyone in
the family. Meet the goats and experience our agricultural heritage in
person. Talk to the goat farmers, sample some foods, and have a great
time! There are three farms who has dairy goats, so make sure to visit
each booth for samples to taste: Dixie Soaps, Rafting Goat Cheese, and
Trew Organic Farms.
- Live goat milking demonstrations at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. (weather permitting)
- Sample fresh goat milk
- Taste real farm-fresh goat cheeses, spreads, and butter
- Meet the goats of Dixie Does Alpines
- Learn about dairy goats
- Goat milk products available: soaps, lotions, lip balms, shampoo, detergent, etc.
- Visit the farmers market. Lots of fresh local farm products available.
Admission is FREE. The entire community is invited.
