Robert Ashton Winslow (Independent Documentary Producer) produced a documentary series locally called Southern Dialogues, right now developing a special webseries about the future of Chattanooga. Four thematic episodes to be completed in Spring 2016 will explore our emerging tech economy, the changing housing estate market, Thrive 2055, and public education.
As part of introducing the program he is pre-screening fragments from the series at the four public library branches, and Tuesday, September 29 at 6pm, he will be at the South Chattanooga Branch from 6pm to close.

Hamilton County Fair, Saturday & Sunday, September 26 & 27, 2015





The County Fair is locally considered to be the official kickoff of the fall season in Hamilton County.  Held on the last weekend in September each year, the County Fair attracts over 50,000 people for the two-day event.  The Fair is held on Dallas Island in Chester Frost Park, a 280-acre lakefront Hamilton County facility located in North Hamilton County, about 15 miles from downtown.  Fairgoers are shuttled to the park via Bus Shuttle.  There is no admission charge, but there is a shuttle fee.  Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome aboard the transportation.  The fair is open both days from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm and is held rain or shine.
For added security, backpacks and other carry-ons will be subject to search before boarding transportation.  Strollers are allowed.
The County Fair is a SMOKE-FREE Event.

Carnival at The Commons on Lookout Mountain, Tuesday, September 22, 2015


September 22nd from 3-7 pm is the annual Carnival at The Commons on Lookout Mountain.  Admission is free and there will be lots of family fun!  The kids can play and you can have dinner there.  One of the options will be Mr. T's Pizza!
The Carnival Kitchen will have prepared and frozen gourmet dinners and fresh baked desserts that are pretty enough to give as gifts.  A couple of our own talented St Elmo neighbors usually have something delicious for you to buy there!  They will take cash and check.
The kids can buy "Carnival Tickets" and then go have some fun at a variety of booths.  One favorite is the Carnival Jars where kids can buy jars full of candy and toys.  You never know what you will get!
It is a blast every year!  The rain date is September 24th.  All proceeds go to Lookout Mountain Elementary School.

Hop across town to meet local artists, watch demonstrations and learn about the artists’ creative processes at twenty galleries and artist studios. Ride the Chattanooga Double Decker Bus on a special Gallery Hop route and play Gallery Bingo to win a variety of prizes. The names of men and women who lost their lives while working a towing and recovery-related incident will be unveiled. The Wall of the Fallen Memorial, which stands in the parking lot of the museum, is topped with a sculpture of a hero tow truck driver that’s reaching down to pull people to safety from a sinking car.
